Latest News: Airbnb removes Costa Rica list after massacre

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Latest news about a Florida woman found dead in Costa Rica (all times):

Airbnb has announced the removal of the list of vacation rentals in Costa Rica where a woman was staying when she was murdered.

Carla Stefaniak from Florida spent the night at Villa le Mas near San Jose on November 27th. Her family reported her disappearance when she did not return home. His body was found Monday.

A guard of the seaside resort was arrested in connection with his death.

According to its classification on TripAdvisor, the Villa le Mas is a complex composed of seven holiday apartments.

Villa Mas's lawyer, Federico Jenkins, said the owners were cooperating with the authorities in the investigation.



The father of a Florida woman who went missing while he was celebrating his 36th birthday in Costa Rica identified his body, found near the villa that she rented.

An article on the Facebook page "Finding Carla" indicates that the Costa Rican authorities have allowed the family to see his body, found on Monday half buried and covered with plastic near the Villa Airbnb rented by Carla Stefaniak in Miami Beach last month.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that an autopsy had revealed wrist injuries on the arm and neck, and that the cause of death was a blow to the head.

On Tuesday, Costa Rican officials arrested Bismark Espinosa Martinez, 32, a guard at Villa Buena Vista Resort near San Jose, Costa Rica. Investigators said that blood had been found in his neighboring apartment.
