Le Matin – Pharma 5 once again receives approval from the Gulf Health Council

After being the first Moroccan pharmaceutical laboratory to obtain the prestigious Gulf Health Council (GHC) approval in 2013, Pharma 5 once again succeeds in having the lead by renewing this same distinction in 2020.

This renewal is the culmination of the audit work carried out on site in Casablanca by a multidisciplinary team of inspectors representing the GHC, made up of the 6 Arab Gulf States.
“For five days, these inspectors reviewed the entire quality process of the Pharma 5 laboratories: from the supply of raw materials to the distribution of batches of drugs internationally, including the control of materials and products, manufacturing and packaging, product validation and stability, technical installations for the treatment of water, air and pharmaceutical gases, ”the group said in a press release. This phase thus makes it possible to certify the compliance of the practices in force with the requirements of the GHC, as defined by the good manufacturing practices, known as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). “The GHC inspectors also assessed the skills of all industrial personnel through the control of training and authorizations for each”, explains the same source.
The renewal of this approval, one of the most prestigious and demanding in the world, confirms the leadership of the Pharma 5 pharmaceutical laboratories, whether in terms of industrial facilities, human skills or mastery of manufacturing processes. manufacturing, says the group. Note that the Pharma 5 laboratories have a production site covering a total area of ​​33,000 m². It has state-of-the-art equipment in accordance with the most recent international standards in the field, in particular with the new Smart Factory unit. The development, production and distribution of 100% Moroccan medicines are ensured by high-level skills, continuously trained by national and international experts.
Reacting to this distinction, the vice-president of Pharma 5 laboratories, Myriam Lahlou-Filali, said: “We are proud of this new distinction which allows us to strengthen our position as a leading pharmaceutical laboratory in Morocco. Today, the quality, safety and efficacy of our products are recognized beyond national borders, especially in Africa and in regions such as the Gulf Cooperation Council where standards for drug supply are among the strictest in the world. ” She also recalled that the group is the first Moroccan pharmaceutical laboratory to obtain this approval in 2013, which allows it to export its drugs to the Gulf countries. “We maintain a very high level of requirement regarding our tools, our processes and our resources in order to be able to succeed in its periodic renewal”, she continues.
