The Westhinder III shines in the bright red paint, just like in 1950 when it was finished. Pipes have been replaced or sealed, welding has been done again. And above all: it has been approved and can go back into the water, ready for a new chapter. For that important step in the restoration file, there was a party at the Dry Docks on Thursday. Guests of honor, in addition to a certain Jambon, Diependaele and De Wever: the dozens of volunteers who devote themselves to Antwerp’s maritime heritage and who worked up a sweat.
