The Russian press points out that Lokomotiv and Mandzukic have already reached an economic agreement
He Lokomotiv Moscow is negotiating with the Croatian footballer Mario Mandzukic, who was released after breaking the contract with the Qatari club Al-Duhail, according to the Russian press on Monday.
Mandzukic, 34, has already agreed the salary with the Moscow club, 2.7 million euros per season, reports the ‘Chempionat’ portal.
In the Russian capital Mandzukic will meet another Croatian international, Vedran Corluka, captain of Lokomotiv, a team coached by a Serb, Marko Nikolic.
The Croatian, who played for Bayern, Juventus and Atlético de Madrid, rbroke the contract by mutual agreement with the Al-Duhail team of Qatar, with which he scored two goals in ten games.
According to the press, two Italian teams, Roma and Fiorentina, would also be interested in the services of Mandzukic.
Lokomotiv, who got Smolov back after several months on loan at Celta, also have Portuguese Eder up front, although they have barely seen the door in recent months.
Recently, the Russian team sold its main star, Alexéi Miranchuk, to Atalanta for 14.5 million euros. EFE
