Lynn Cohen, who played Magda in “Sex and the City”, dies at 86

Lynn Cohen, a veteran actress known for her role as Magda in the HBO hit series “Sex and the City”, died on February 14 at her New York home. He was 86 years old.

His death was confirmed by his son, Laurence Frazen.

Cohen has been seen in films, TV shows and theater productions, but has not reached her greatest fame until her role as Magda, the strict eastern European housekeeper hired by Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) in “Sex and the City” .

Lynn Harriet Kay was born on August 10, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her father, Louis Kay, was a salesman; his mother, Bertha (Cornsweet) Kay, worked in retail.

His marriage in 1957 to Gilbert Frazen ended in divorce in 1960. He married Ronald Cohen, actor and writer, in 1964.

His film awards include “Manhattan Murder Mystery” (1993) and “Munich” (2005), where he plays Golda Meir.
