The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts for Madeira very cloudy skies and periods of rain or showers, more frequent in the northern and highlands.
The wind will be light to moderate (10 to 30 km / h) from the northwest, becoming moderate to strong (30 to 40 km / h), with gusts up to 65 km / h, from mid-morning, and blowing hard (40 to 50 km / h) in the highlands, with gusts up to 85 km / h in the afternoon.
For Funchal the forecast is for periods of very cloudy sky, with the possibility of periods of light rain or light showers.
The wind will be light (less than 15 km / h), becoming weak to moderate (up to 25 km / h) from the west from mid-morning.
Regarding the state of the sea, on the North coast the waves will be from the northwest with 2 to 2.5 meters, increasing
gradually to 3 to 4 meters. On the south coast the waves will be from the southwest with 1 to 1.5 meters, gradually increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 meters.
The sea water temperature varies between 19 and 20ºC.
