The Moroccans Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper of Sevilla FC, and Hakim Ziyech, member of the English club Chelsea, are among the first five finalists for the prize of “best Maghrebian player of the year”, unveiled Tuesday by the magazine France Football.
Bounou’s year was marked by a “remarkable career” in C3 where he was one of the “great architects” of Andalusian success with decisive stops against Manchester United or even Inter in the final, underlines the French magazine. As for his compatriot Hakim Ziyech, the “magical”, who transferred his talent from Ajax to Chelsea, he managed to pull off despite strong competition, says France Football. The list also includes Algerians Ismaël Bennacer (Milan) and Said Benrahma (West Ham), as well as Tunisian Ali Maaloul (Al-Ahly).
Note that the vote to choose the best North African player of the year 2020 will open on Thursday.
