A DC man was arrested and charged with murder Monday after a 19-year-old woman was shot dead in southeastern Washington last week, police said on Tuesday. They found Nya Howard-Reynolds of Capitol Heights, Maryland, shot and wounded in a residence and taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the statement said. On Monday, Robert Theodore Smith, 22, of Southeast, was arrested and charged with second degree murder while he was armed in the Howard-Reynolds death, the statement said. Police initially indicated that Howard-Reynolds was originally from Alexandria. No further information on the circumstances of the shooting was immediately available.
