Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg is heading to ABC The Connors for a starring role in an upcoming episode. Currently, in season 2, The Conners started as a short-lived spin-off Roseanne the revival after the lead of the Roseanne Barr series was fired from the show following some controversial comments. With the cast still on board, ABC decided to keep the working class sitcom under a new title with a renewed focus on the family rather than a singular protagonist.
Clark Gregg played Phil Coulson as the protagonist of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. of ABC. for the entire duration of the show. The show ended its sixth season last summer and will air for the seventh and final season later in 2020. Gregg specifically started out as agent Coulson in the first MCU film. Iron man and continued to play a crucial role in the formation of the Avengers. While Loki killed Coulson in 2012 The Avengershas been taken over Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and reported as head of the organization. Recently, Gregg has returned to the MCU Captain Marvel.

According to ABC, an upcoming episode of The Conners will see Clark Gregg (together with his real-world wife Jennifer Gray) play half of a married couple that Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) likes and “invites” her to their relationship. The episode will also see Dan (John Goodman), still saddened by the loss of his father, who tries to forge a bond with his half-brother Ed Jr., played by the guest star Noel Fisher. These efforts are blocked when Dan finds out that his father paid for Ed Jr.’s college after refusing to help Dan.
In the meantime, Darlene Conner (Sarah Gilbert) will encounter some unexpected reactions when she tells her children that she will try to have another baby with her boyfriend, Ben. Young Conners, Harris (Emma Kenney) and Mark (Ames McNamara), take the news badly after Darlene informed them of her intentions and Ben (Jay R. Ferguson).
The episode, titled “Bad Dads and Grads”, appears to be full of a lot of emotional interests and a handful of humor. The adventurous couple of Gregg and Gray will probably be in the center of the scene as a comic relief in an episode that seems to hit some deep emotional notes too. It is not clear whether the guest spots will be unique roles or if they could recur later. Either way, we will be able to see Clark Gregg again when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. come back later this year and earlier The Conners airs on Tuesdays at 20:00 / 19:00 on ABC.
