Mercedes-Maybach EQS, the first ultra-luxury electric SUV

Mercedes-Maybach launches the Concept EQS, a concrete preview of the first fully electric production model of this prestigious and traditional brand. The SUV is based on the modular architecture of electric cars from the luxury and superior Mercedes ‑ Benz segment, projecting the exclusivity of Maybach into a zero-emissions future.

A one-of-a-kind piece, which will begin to be produced shortly, and which boasts the typical distinctive Maybach characteristics, including the refined two-tone paintwork. One step closer to a more modern and innovative image the brand does it thanks to the latest generation propulsion technology.

Executive seats and chauffeur package inside, the rear compartment is transformed into a comfortable work or relaxation space, to which are also added exclusive details such as the new door panels, with armrests that look like precious shelves. Or decorative elements in Piano white and materials in intense sea blue, which they recreate on board the feel-good atmosphere of a luxury yacht.

The car belongs to the two families Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-EQ, the concept is a preview of the first fully electric SUV in the luxury segment. The shape of the car follows the Purpose design, is based on purely electric automotive architecture, reveals a dynamic silhouette, starting with the lowered front, and then extending streamlined over the sloping A-pillar and the shape of the roof, up to the edge of the rear spoiler. At first glance, the turning point towards a new technological era is evident.

An essential feature, as anticipated, is the typical two-tone paint in obsidian black metallic and zircon red metallic, with a thin chrome strip as an optical dividing line. The chrome surfaces extend above the air intake grilles and the diffuser on the front and rear, as well as surround the side windows with a chromed frame with a dynamic 3D version. The central pillars are also chromed and embellished with a subtle motif depicting the brand logo. The Maybach “M” is also found on the second rear pillar.

The passenger compartment is as emotional and stylish as the exterior, completely revised in a virtual key. The front seats show some similarities to those we have seen in the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The first-class rear compartment with two generous single seats and the High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System ensure maximum comfort.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS Concept is based on the modular architecture of Mercedes-Benz electric cars in the luxury segment and above. On this basis, another 100% electric model will be introduced, the EQS SUV, which will begin production as early as next year, even before the Maybach model. The electric propulsion ensures maximum silence of operation and allows you to experience the car with tranquility and relaxation. The expected range for the Mercedes-EQS SUV model is approximately 600 kilometers (WLTP).
