Mercedes-Maybach is the top of the S-Class, it even massages the calves

After the successful launch of the Maybach GLS SUV, Mercedes comes up with another opulent model. This is the highest possible specification of the S-Class Maybach sedan, which is to be literally a new definition of luxury in its class and huge competition.

The car is also available in two-tone painting and compared to the extended version of the S-Class, the Maybach is even 180 mm longer. In total, the Maybach has a length of 5469 mm and is therefore always equipped with turning the rear wheels. Comfort is then ensured by the air bellows of the chassis or the improved chassis adjustment system E-Active Body Control.

In Maybach, the greatest attention is traditionally paid to the comfort of the rear seat passengers. New are, for example, belt feeders or electrically operated automatic rear doors.

Top massage seats remain the standard, which are ventilated and heated, even on the armrests or side panels. They even massage the calves, thanks to the adjustable backrest. There is ambient lighting and a luxury champagne fridge at an additional cost.

The comfort of listening to music in Maybach is ensured by the top interior sound system from the Burmester company, which has chosen the 4D surround sound system for the limousine. Up to 5 screens should be available to passengers in full specification, there are three at the back, on the seats and between them. 18 airbags take care of the safety of the crew.

In Maybach and Mercedes, respectively, but they didn’t forget about the driver either. It will have significantly less work than in previous versions of the limousine, because Maybach is partly autonomous, following the example of other luxury cars.

Mercedes are already waiting for legislative changes that would allow the launch of autonomous third-level management, for which the new Maybach is ready. It should be able to partially take over the selected motorway sections in Germany as early as the second half of 2021.

Mercedes will supply the luxury sedan in two engine variants. The weaker version, called the S580 4Matic, gets an eight-cylinder with two turbochargers and a mild-hybrid system with 503 horsepower. The second engine will be a 6.0-liter V12 engine with two turbines and 612 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid is on the way. The car will go on sale at the end of 2020.
