The Spanish Grand Prix, which was to be held from May 1 to 3 on the Jerez circuit in Andalusia, has been postponed to a date yet to be determined due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the situation is constantly changing, a new date cannot be confirmed until we know exactly when it will be possible to organize the event“said MotoGP and the International Motorcycling Federation in a statement.”A revised schedule will be published as soon as available.

Two blocks of three races

The four previous Grand Prix have already been canceled (Qatar in the MotoGP category) or postponed to the second half of the season (Thailand, Americas and Argentina).

To do this, the championship was extended from November 15 to 29 and must end with not one, as planned, but two blocks of three races in three weeks, interspersed with a weekend of rest. The next scheduled race is the French GP, at Le Mans, from May 15 to 17.
