Nador: Failure of an attempt to smuggle 280 kg of Chira

The elements of national security at the port of Beni Ansar in Nador, in coordination with their counterparts from Customs, thwarted, Thursday afternoon, an attempted traffic of 280 kilograms of Chira, seized in a car slight registered in Spain.

In a press release, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the control operation of this car, which was about to leave the national territory on board a commercial cruise bound for France, made it possible to seize the drug cargo concealed in specially dedicated places at the level of the body of the vehicle and to arrest the driver, of Moroccan nationality aged 40 years.

The same source adds that the quantity of drugs seized was handed over to the customs administration for competence, while the defendant was placed in police custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation carried out by the judicial police brigade under of the provincial security district of Nador under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the possible national and international ramifications of this criminal activity.

This case is part of the intense and joint security operations carried out by the security services in order to fight against the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic drugs, concludes the DGSN.
