KOMPAS.com – NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) estimates an asteroid four times the size of New York’s Empire State Building will move toward Earth on Friday, May 27, 2022.
According to its analysis, NASA said, the asteroid 7335 (1989 JA) was far from Earth.
The distance is about 4 million kilometers, or almost 10 times the average distance between the Earth and the Moon. However, the size of the asteroid is very large and up to 1.8 km in diameter.
Thus, NASA classifies the spacecraft as “potentially dangerous.” This means that 7335 (1989 JA) could cause major damage to Earth, if its orbit or trajectory were changed.
