Refinitive data showed that the Egyptian pound reached 18.32 pounds against the dollar by 08:38 GMT, slightly higher than the 18.35 pound dollar level that it recorded on Wednesday.

This is the highest level for the Egyptian pound since the tenth of April, when it recorded 18.30 pounds for the dollar.

Data from the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed, earlier, that consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities jumped to 13.1 percent on an annual basis in April.
