Oscars 2019: Frances McDormand and Gary Oldman will deliver awards after all | Movie

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has backtracked and announced that last year’s Oscar winners of acting – as it has traditionally been – will return to the current awards at the 2019 ceremony.

Some reports have emerged that, in its quest to improve the declining ratings of the Oscar’s television broadcast, the Academy has failed to invite 2018 winners to present at the upcoming ceremony, trying to involve more captivating names as presenters. Allison Janney, winner of the best supporting actress for me, Tonya, said “my heart breaks” in a deleted post on social media.

The Academy confirmed in a tweet that Janney, along with Frances McDormand (winner of the best actress for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Gary Oldman (best actor for Darkest Hour) and Sam Rockwell (best supporting actor for Three Billboards) will present prizes.

Last year, Allison Janney, Frances McDormand, Gary Oldman and Sam Rockwell had their names read from an envelope and took the Oscar home.

This year they will help make more dreams come true.

We are excited to announce that they will be present at this year’s show. #Oscars

This marks the latest finding for the Academy regarding the Oscar’s television broadcast, which was under pressure from the ABC network. He has already lost his first guest, Kevin Hart, so he has been severely criticized for his attempt to introduce (therefore abandon) a very popular category of film. After the Academy announced a series of high-profile presenters for its “hostless” ceremony, a further twist in the saga emerged when actor Dwayne Johnson tweeted that he had been approached at the MC event before Hart , but “failed to make it work” due to the filming schedule of a sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Ah, buddy, I was their first choice to host this year, and my goal was to make it the most fun and entertaining Oscar ever. We all tried very hard, but I haven’t been able to make it work since I shot Jumanji. Academy and I were super disappointed but maybe one day down the road ???? https://t.co/eiiMuBNOzb
