Sonly a few days after celebrating her 18th birthday on October 25, the oldest giraffe in the park died of old age. Pairi Daiza Park communicated the information by placing a sign in front of the Kongo enclosure. “The eldest of the four giraffes passed away this morning. Kongo arrived at Pairi Daiza in 2005.

“Kongo unfortunately died of old age, an old heart and an old rumen, or his digestive system,” spokesperson Claire Gilissen told SudInfo. The healers say they are touched by Kongo’s death.
