Dresden (dpa / sn) – The AfD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament wants to take action before the constitutional court because of the Corona Protection Ordinance. On Thursday, she announced a corresponding regulatory review suit. “For many small and medium-sized companies, the current activity bans are an intolerable situation. So that the retail trade, gastronomy, rehab sports, hairdressers and other businesses can quickly reopen, we will now go to court,” said parliamentary group leader Jörg Urban. The current regulation is a “hodgepodge of far-reaching restrictions on fundamental rights”.
Health Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) also referred to other lawsuits against the previous 20 protection ordinances: “We’re not doing this to arbitrarily interfere with any civil rights. But again: The protection of the population – that is our top priority.” She believes that the Protection Ordinance provides a very good justification for this: “That is why I assume that we will also win the lawsuits. Should a court make a different decision, then we as a Free State will of course feel bound by this decision.”
