Pentagon to give Ukraine $ 200 million more in military aid

WASHINGTON – The Pentagon says it will provide $ 200 million for additional training, equipment, and advisory assistance to the Ukrainian military.

The money is intended to support various aspects of the Ukrainian military, including command and control of armed forces, secure communication and medical treatment. A delivery schedule for the supplies and equipment will be scheduled later, the Pentagon said on Friday.

The new aid comes from efforts of the Ukrainian government to make its armed forces more operational with those of NATO

It also coincides with the political debate over US-Russian relations after the Helsinki Summit and the position of President Donald Trump related to Russia's military intervention in eastern Ukraine.
