Police: All indications are that the people who died in the accident in Flå were three brothers aged 17, 18 and 20

The police are still waiting for final identification, but sent out a press release on Wednesday stating that all information now indicates that the three victims were brothers.

– The brothers were residents of Flå and Noresund and were on their way to Flå when the car they were driving collided with a crane truck on national road 7 at Gulsvik in Hallingdal, writes Sørøst police district.

The police have not yet released the names because they are waiting for a final feedback on identity from the Department of Forensic Medicine.

The car started to burn

The accident was reported at 22.21 on Monday night. Both vehicles ended up off the road, and the car started to burn. All three in the car died on the spot.

– We are beginning to form a picture of what has happened prior to the accident. At the same time, there is still a lot of investigation that remains before we can determine the course of events, says police station chief Brit Fyksen in the press release.

She adds that many are affected by the accident, and that they now receive close follow-up from the municipality and the health service.

Takes care of the bereaved

– The locals here in Krødsherad have taken good care of the relatives. It has been a special day, but it has been nice to see how the rest of the village has taken care of the bereaved, Krødsherad mayor Knut Martin Glesne told NTB on Tuesday night.

Noresund, where one or more of the brothers who probably died in the accident is resident, is the administration center in the municipality where he is mayor.

Both Flå and Krødsherad put crisis staff after the accident.
