It is the most used word, abused, gnawed, frayed, prostituted lately, after being light and beacon of humanity. But since the left made it a slogan, its discredit cannot be greater. Progress, from the Latin progressio, "moving forward" by par excellence, has been linked to improvement, expansion, liberalism, but manipulated by "progress" has become "progress" which is almost an insult, equivalent to the "façade" in the another end of the ideological spectrum, that is, "backward movement."
