TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – A number of stalls and rice stalls in Jakarta still serve customers who eat on the spot on the first day PSBB Volume 2. An owner of a Tegal warung or warteg said that he still allows buyers to eat on the spot for fear of losing customers.
Based on Pergub Number 88 of 2020 concerning PSBB issued by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, restaurants and eateries are allowed to remain open but only for delivery. Buyers are prohibited from eating on the spot to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Time visited two shopping centers in South and Central Jakarta to see the conditions in the field related to this, as well as seeing several dining areas in the vicinity.
Restaurants in shopping centers have implemented a prohibition of eating on the premises, as is the case with rows warteg and a rice shop lined up in the side alley of Kuningan City.
Some of the warteg and Nasi Padang stalls have posted the words “only wrapped”, but not a few still serve customers on the spot. No Satpol PP or police were present to monitor the PSBB health protocol there.
A man who owns a warteg, who declined to give his name, stated that he was aware of the re-enactment of the PSBB in Jakarta, but had not received any direction from the local environmental authorities regarding this matter. |
He explained that the shop was still open in order to maintain the income that had plummeted in the early days of the pandemic. “We need to sell, if no can eat here later customers go, “he said.
You can see that the chairs in the dining area are crowded with buyers. There were no visible restrictions on the distance between those who were eating.
Even so, the man insisted his shop adhered to health protocols. “Been cleaning diligently, after every meal can we wipe the table chairs, “he said.
Inside the shop, you can see several office workers from the surrounding area and Kuningan City mall employees eating. Despite knowing the prohibition of eating in places during the PSBB period, they were used to eating in that place before. “My habit is resting here, now I always bring a mask and sanitizer, “Said a mall employee.
