Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 5G modems as M.2 cards for various devices


Qualcomm Technologies has announced the Snapdragon X62 5G and Snapdragon X65 5G modems to bring fifth-generation mobile connectivity to a wide variety of devices, including consumer computers and networking equipment.

New items are made in the form of modules M.2. They can be installed in desktop and laptop computers, routers, tablets, virtual and mixed reality devices, etc.

Both modems support 5G networks with autonomous (SA) and non-autonomous (NSA) architectures. The solutions are capable of working with all major bands, be it below 6 GHz or millimeter waves.

Implemented support for previous generations of cellular networks – LTE, WCDMA (DB-DC-HSDPA), TD-SCDMA, CDMA 1x, GSM / EDGE.

The Snapdragon X62 5G Modem delivers a peak data transfer rate of 4.6Gbps. In the Snapdragon X65 5G version, this figure reaches 10 Gb / s.

Snapdragon X62 5G and Snapdragon X65 5G products with reference design are now available to customers. Obviously, commercial products equipped with these modems will soon appear on the market.
