Ram released the fuel consumption ratings for its 1500 TRX pickup truck which debuts this month. We knew very well that the latter would not be famous, but here it is catastrophic.
In fact, we’re going back to the 60s and 70s here, literally.
It must be said that with a pickup equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and 720 horsepower, it would have been difficult to do otherwise. This machine is made to consume petroleum and deliver emotion to the cube. Moreover, we will have the opportunity to talk to you about it again soon, because we will be testing it next Friday.
Now, regarding these ratings, they are 23.5 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 16.8 liters on the highway. Combined, we are talking about 19.6 liters.
It will of course be necessary to see in normal driving, but the problem with 702 horsepower under the right foot, it is that it is impossible to drive… normally. In fact, we always want to crush the mushroom.
What is certain, however, is that the prospective buyer of a 1500 TRX version knows what to expect and is probably not too bothered with the gas bill that will await him.
As for our upcoming test, we’ll have fun doing some consumption calculations and we’ll share it all with you.
