Regarding violations of parole, less is more: three DAs call for reform to stop sending people back to prison

Each year, thousands of New Yorkers return to their communities on probation after prison. These are our neighbors who have discounted their time, paid off their debt and are working towards success. But if they do it too often on the word it depends on their skin color. According to a new Columbia Justice Lab report, African Americans and Latin Americans are much more likely than their white peers to return to prison for non-criminal technical violations. This extreme racial disparity is intolerable and requires immediate legislative action.
