They examined 24 men. After showing horror movies, armpit sweat was taken. Then the men were shown funny film scenes and also Rail Away, a TV program in which a train travels through relaxing landscapes. Sweat was also collected on it.

The fear sweat is really “very different” than sweat in case of luck or in a neutral mood, the researchers said. The results are just “a first step” in exposing the “chemical fingerprint” of various body odors, according to the university.
