The world volleyball champion Andrea Lucchetta, the president of the Region Stefano Bonaccini and the CEO of Pallacanestro Reggiana Alessandro Dalla Salda will be the guests of honor at the official inauguration of the renovated gym in via Grandi in Albinea, reopened from the beginning of the schools after a long intervention of almost four years, with an investment of more than two million euros.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 11.30 on Saturday 16 October. Alongside the mayor Nico Giberti there will also be the director of the Albinea Tennis Club, Giulia Bizzarri. The morning will end with the performance of two Albinetan sports clubs, Azato Karate and Skating Albinea, who have already returned to using the complex in via Grandi from mid-September, when the gym became usable for schools and for afternoon activities.
That of October 16 will be an opportunity to know the details of the 2,360,000 euro operation, of which 2,110,000 euro of works, completed thanks to various external support, including 131 thousand euro of regional contribution from the Por Fesr , 500 thousand euros of regional contribution from the Development and Cohesion Fund and 265 thousand euros of contributions from the Gse thermal account. Born as an industrial site and then transformed into a gym, the building in via Grandi is the main Albinetan reference point for indoor sports, managed by the Albinea Tennis Club through a recently renewed concession that also includes the other facilities managed by the club always in via Large, starting from the nearby tennis courts and recreational spaces. The renovation, in addition to having brought improvements in the anti-seismic structural seal and in the energy supply systems, has seen the expansion of the possible proposals. The main area is that of the multipurpose gym with an area of 870 square meters usable for basketball, skating, volleyball and soccer, with new ceiling baskets, a floating solid wood flooring and other supplies. On the sides, new spaces have been created for spectators and, by moving one of the two tennis courts outwards, the “fitness” gym has been enlarged up to 160 square meters, so as to be able to accommodate more athletes. at the same time keeping the distances. The change also involved the changing rooms, demolished and rebuilt, creating other rooms, with four rooms for the teams, two for the instructors and referees, together with the infirmary, warehouses and services. The overhaul has made it possible to obtain an additional 130 square meters which will be used for free-body activities that do not require tools.
