Sami Haenen’s unabashed reaction after his conviction in Liège for his anti-women comments on Facebook

This Wednesday, Sami Haenen therefore became the first Belgian to be sentenced to the assizes for comments published on social networks. The 34-year-old Flémallois was sentenced to 12 months in prison, accompanied by a probationary suspension of two years for anything in excess of pre-trial detention for press offenses (for threats written and posted on Facebook against feminists) and verbal threats, via a video in which he gestured with a baseball bat while threatening women. In other words, the Liege will regain freedom.

We were able to meet him when he left the Assize Court. He confides to us his feeling without taboos (the full video HERE).

“On the one hand, I’m happy to have been released. But of another, I would have hoped for acquittal and I am a little disappointed at this level, ”he explains to us in particular. “I received a lot of support. Even women have supported me, ”says the 34-year-old Flémallois.
