Samsung Galaxy: Strange mobile tracking notification sent by mistake

Many Samsung Galaxy users from France and around the world were able to receive a strange notification this Thursday. Sent by the “Mobile tracking” application – the equivalent of “Find my device” from Google, which allows you to geolocate your smartphone remotely – this message is accompanied by the number 1.

Enough to alert the vigilance of many users of these smartphones, worried about facing a possible virus or a malicious spy application.

“Sent unintentionally during an internal test”

In fact, this is a technical problem that occurred during the launch of Android 11. “This notification was sent unintentionally during an internal test and it has no effect on your device”, reassured Samsung, apologizing for the inconvenience.

Notification push bugs are relatively common. Last July, smartphone owners had massively received absurd notifications – series of characters, sometimes not Latin – during technical tests, recalls The Verge.

Many models would be affected by this untimely push from Samsung: the Galaxy S10, S9 and S8, but also the Galaxy Note 10, Note 9 and Note 8.
