HPV is a virus that affects the skin and mucous membranes, and can cause warts or precursor cancerous lesions, such as those in the cervix, throat, or anus. And, in order to maintain the orientation and advancement of the vaccination of children and adolescents, a conference will be given by the technical advisor of the Department of Health Surveillance, of the Undersecretary of Primary Care, Health Surveillance and Promotion (Subpav), Charbell. Kury, for all community schools, including students and education professionals, as well as student parents and guardians.

In the municipality, in 2021, 4,636 doses of HPV vaccine were administered to girls and 3,083 doses to boys. This year, 577 doses were applied for girls and 421 doses for boys. The quadruple HPV vaccine was implemented in the city in 2010 by former mayor Rosinha Garotinho and Health Secretary Paulo Hirano, who was also responsible for the case. The pioneering spirit led Campos to apply more than 100,000 doses of the vaccine between 2010 and 2016.
