The Ministry of Health warned against the sale of antibiotics without a prescription, and stressed the importance of complying with the provisions of the system of practicing health professions, which prohibits the pharmacist to dispense any medicine except by a prescription issued by a licensed doctor practicing the profession in the Kingdom.
Al-Hayat, through an awareness campaign launched by social networking sites, said that whoever violates this will be subject to legal penalties, including a fine of up to 100,000 riyals, the revocation of the license, imprisonment for up to six months.
