The Ostapenko tournament in Rome is the first since the resumption of the season. She started the year at the Australian Open, where she stopped in the second round, but then lost in the first match of the St. Petersburg tournament and advanced to the third round in Doha. He has currently celebrated three victories in seven games on the WTA tour.

Meanwhile, Linete resumed the season in the USA, where she reached the second round of the Lexington tournament, stopped in the first round of the New York WTA Premier and reached the third round of the US Open. In February, the Polish woman won the Huechina International tournament in Thailand, winning the second WTA title in her career.

In the second round, Linete will meet with Eliza Mertens from Belgium (WTA 20) or Suvei Xie from Taiwan (WTA 62).
