A man was identified by the police after a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a Primark store.
The Greater Manchester police have confirmed that they have found a man who may have been able to help them in their investigations.
The girl was caught from behind by a man while she was making a purchase on the first floor of the retailer's branch in downtown Bury, Greater Manchester.
The abuser continued to follow the girl around the store and, when she stopped a second time, she felt that her skirt was raised.
Police said she had returned and noticed what appeared to be a mobile phone in her hand.
The girl ran to a family member with whom she was shopping and told them what had happened.
The abuser reappeared and attempted to approach the girl again, but was later stopped by her parent and quickly fled out of the main entrance.
Yesterday the police made a call to find a man with whom she wanted to talk about the incident, which occurred around 11:30 am on September 16th.
A police spokesman said: "Police investigating the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in a downtown Bury store has now identified a man in relation to the 39; incident.
"The man supports the police in his investigations."
