Share Canadian ‘plane revelers’ still flown back home

The Quebec “influencers” had flown to Mexico on a Sunwing charter flight and were due to return to Canada on January 5. Sunwing refused to fly the 130 travelers back home because of their behavior on the outbound flight.

Air Canada and Air Transat also said they did not want the group of travelers on board, but 27 of them have now returned to Canada, according to CTV News. Part of the group reportedly had to stay behind in Mexico due to a corona infection.

Immediately after arriving in their home country, the travelers were questioned by the authorities. If the investigation finds that they have violated Canadian air transport rules, they could be fined up to 5000 Canadian dollars, Transport Canada has announced.

Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to the influencers’ behavior: “It’s a slap in the face to see people endangering themselves, endangering their fellow citizens, endangering airline personnel by being completely irresponsible.”
