Sony made earphone tips out of foamed polyurethane, a soft and flexible material, which increases the surface contact range between the earphone tip and the ear canal, and fills gaps for sound insulation and noise reduction, as well as enhancing ear canal adhesion.
The WF-1000XM4 now supports high-resolution wireless audio, thanks to the industry-approved audio coding technology, LDAC. LDAC transmits approximately three times more data (with a transfer rate of 990 kbps) than audio sent over conventional Bluetooth, allowing for audio speeds as close to a wired connection as possible. Specially designed 6mm drivers deliver dynamic sound despite its small size, according to Sony.
After the success of the Speak-to-Chat feature on the WH-1000XM4 headphone model. Sony has now provided it with the WF-1000XM4, which allows for short conversations without having to remove the earphones. As soon as you talk to someone, Speak-to-Chat automatically stops the music and lets the surrounding sound be heard so you can have a conversation.
The headset adds a “Quick Attention” mode that allows you to listen to external alerts or speak briefly, and works by placing a finger above the left earbud to reduce the volume directly and allow ambient sound to be heard.
Next to Adaptive Sound Tuning, a smart feature that senses where you are and what you’re doing – for example, if you’re walking or waiting – adjusts ambient sound settings to give you an optimal listening experience, says Sony.
The headphones come with an instant on and off feature, which stops working when removed from the ear and turns back on when put back on.
The WF-1000XM4 provides up to 8 hours of playback according to Sony, plus another 16 hours on a case charge. The headset also has the feature of fast charging and wireless charging, which can get 60 minutes of playback after charging for 5 minutes, and the Sony | Headphones Connect a notification when the charging case level drops below 30%.
In addition, the new Sony headset carries an IPX4 water resistance standard for everyday use. It adds support for Google Assistants and Amazon Alexa.
The WF-1000XM4 will be available in black and silver in Saudi Arabia starting mid-July 2021. It can be pre-booked for SAR 1,299 including free wireless charging. Note that this price is included in an offer valid until July 4th.
