Sounder at the seaside – Shock and sadness as a woman dies in the heart of the tourist center of Ingoldmells

This was supposed to be the big start of the tourist season. Schools were broken for the summer and Ingoldmells was preparing for the usual influx of summer tourists.

But as holidaymakers arrived after the rush of a frantic Friday on the roads, the silliness of the Lincolnshire seaside resort was shattered.

Police were called to an "altercation" outside the Buzz Bar at Sea Lane, one of Ingoldmell's main tourist routes and about 100 m from the park. Fantasy Island attractions.

Police found a wounded 52-year-old woman from Nottinghamshire on the scene and she was taken to hospital, but she was pronounced dead soon after.

Donna Waterhouse arrived in Ingolmells this morning for the first day of her vacation. and found Sea Lane curly with a white judicial police tent in place.

She said: "I saw the tent this morning and I experienced something terrible. It was a shock to see.

"It's a horrible thing to have happened. I love Skegness, I come every year but now I am afraid to go far. I came here to relax not to find someone who was killed. I feel for the woman's family. "

Mom of two Josie May, of Peterborough, said that there was a great feeling of sadness in the city

She said:" Everyone praises Ingoldmells atmosphere, so i thought i would try it. It's a lovely place, but everyone is saddened.

"Many of the families I talked to today arrived, like me, to discover that this poor woman was dead, it is tragic, many say that they do not will not come back here and that they would have wished they had gone elsewhere

"I know this is not the best thing to do, but people need to think about how this poor woman's family feels before thinking of herself.

"I think people are afraid to go out at night, which is sad because it is the busiest time of the year."
