Spawn’s Mortal Kombat 11 Joker Fight Intro Is A Neat Violator Reference

As the release of Spawn approaches Mortal Kombat 11, the new teasers include his interaction with Joker, which implies a reference to Violator that anti-hero fans will surely love. Spawn is the last character set to appear on MK11 and will be available in early access on March 17th, followed by a full version a week later.

Mortal Kombat 11The purchase of the Kombat package offered early access to all additional characters expected for the fighting game in the last year. Some of these characters were longtime MK favorites like Shang Tsung and Sindel. However, as is customary, the package also included celebrities from other universes; in this case, Terminator, Joker and Spawn. The latest character to be released, Spawn fights with all his familiar weapons, including many cloak moves, chain cutting, automatic weapons, club hits and necroplasm attacks. He is also a friend of Batman.

But it is a tribute to the past To produce the comics and animated series of the 90s that thrilled the players. Like Mortal Kombat 11 up chirping revealed, Spawn’s interactions with the Joker are an evil reference to his demon masters. “Looks like you have a lump case, “Joker jokes.” I fucked to hate clowns, “Spawn replies. It may not mean much to others, but Spawn fans immediately recognized him as a reference to Violator: in the Spawn universe, Violator is a powerful demon sent to watch, torment and challenge Spawn in the worst moments possible – and usually wears the face of a fat, impish clown while he is doing it.

This reference is just one of many found in Spawn’s MK11 content (including fatally bleeding). The character himself is again voiced by Keith David, who provided Spawn’s voice in the HBO animated series. Spawn’s introductions include one in which she carries the spearhead of the clown form of Violator. An outro shows Spawn being dragged to hell to face his main enemy Malebolgia too. While all the extra MK11 characters have touches that go back to their stories, the details of Spawn in particular are full of Easter eggs like these created for longtime fans.

MK players will find out how Spawn feels in person in a few weeks. Based on its reception so far, it is slated to become one of the most popular new playable characters the game has seen – and Mortal Kombat 11 he really needs it right now. The game was snubbed by the EVO 2020 championship event (which, so far, is still slated for August), and Spawn is the last officially announced character to be released for the game. Was it successful enough to justify another Kombat Pack? These next few weeks could prove crucial for the future of the game.
