Spotify doesn’t like Apple’s new bundle

Spotify certainly didn’t like the ad Apple One. Just after the keynote, the Swedish company released a press release letting some anger against Apple perspire.

“Once again, Apple is using its dominance and unfair practices to disadvantage its competitors and deprive consumers of them by promoting its own services. We call on competition authorities to act urgently to curb Apple’s anti-competitive behavior, which, if left unchecked, will cause irreparable harm to the developer community and threatens our collective freedoms to listen, to learn, create and connect. “

Storage, games, music and series for 15 euros

Without naming it, Spotify is certainly talking about Apple’s new bundle here. It brings together some, or even all of the brand’s services in a single subscription. For example, you can subscribe to iCloud, Apple TV +, Apple Arcade and Apple Music for 14.95 euros per month. An interesting price since it saves 6 euros compared to individual subscriptions.

Such an offer puts competing services at a disadvantage, argues Spotify. It seems easier to subscribe to Apple One, rather than taking a Spotify subscription and a storage offer on another cloud service.

For more than a year, Spotify has accused Apple of anti-competitive practices. The music streaming service even lodged a complaint to this effect with the European Commission who has since opened an investigation on the subject.
