Sri Mulyani Issues New Car PPnBM Discount Rules, Valid in March

The Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati has signed a regulation regarding the PPnBM discount for new cars of up to 100% or the imposition of 0% PPnBM. The PPnBM discount is payable in Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK) Number 20 of 2021 concerning Sales Tax on Luxury Goods for the Delivery of Luxury Taxable Goods in the Form of Certain Motor Vehicles Borne by the Government for Fiscal Year 2021.

Citing Article 5, PPnBM borne by the government for the delivery of a motorized vehicle is 100% valid from March to May. Then at 50% tax period June to August

“And 25% (twenty five percent) of the PPnBM payable for the September 2021 Tax Period to the December 2021 Tax Period,” quoted Article 5 point c of the PMK on Friday (26/2/2021).

Described in article 2, the PPnBM discount applies to motorized sedans or station wagons with ignition or compression ignition engines (diesel or semi-diesel) with a cylinder capacity of up to 1,500 cc.

Then, motorized vehicles for the transportation of less than 10 people including drivers other than sedans or station wagons, with ignition or compression ignition engines (diesel or semi-diesel) with a 1 axle drive system (4×2) with a cylinder capacity of up to 1,500 cc.

Article 3 explains that motorized vehicles that get PPnBM discounts must meet the requirements for the amount of local purchases or what are known as local purchases. Requirements for the amount of local purchases include the fulfillment of at least 70% of the total use of components originating from domestic production used in motor vehicle production activities.
