The Graz Music Association is offering an extraordinary concert at very short notice on October 31st: star tenor Juan Diego Florez will organize an evening with songs and arias. “In these turbulent times we do not cancel, but invite and even expand our range of concerts in close collaboration with internationally sought-after artists,” said Musikverein boss Michael Nemeth to the APA.
Juan Diego Florez will be a guest in Graz with works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, Richard Strauss, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Edouard Lalo, Jules Massenet and Giacomo Puccini. The Peruvian tenor has already convinced the Graz audience several times with his perfect singing and expressiveness. His interpretation of songs is just as precise as that of the opera arias. The final appearance with the guitar repeatedly caused enthusiasm among the audience. At the end of the program, the South American likes to sing Spanish hits and folk songs. Cecile Restier accompanies him on the piano.
“I am particularly pleased that Juan Diego Florez spontaneously accepted my invitation to repeat his acclaimed recital at this year’s Salzburg Festival at the Musikverein Graz. This once again underlines the internationality of the Musikverein and the music city of Graz,” said Nemeth.
