Scientists from California discover potential ‘kill switch’ for cancer through tumor research in space

Discover a potential ‘kill switch’ for cancer through tumor research in space. Scientists from California teamed up with astronauts to study the effects of microgravity on cancer growth and treatments. The team found that under stress, cancer cells activate a cloning gene, ADAR1, leading to rapid growth. They tested two anti-cancer medications that block ADAR1 and developed an experimental drug called rebecsinib, which inhibits cancer growth more effectively. The researchers hope to launch clinical trials for the drug on Earth by the end of the year.
