Walldorf According to a Bloomberg report, Europe’s most valuable technology group SAP is sounding out the sale of its software business for mobile phone networks. The tech company is working with a consultant to gauge interest in the business and has spoken to potential buyers, the news agency reports.

The digital interconnect division of SAP manufactures software that enables customers to communicate via telephone or text message in various transmission networks and can process related payments.

The division dates back to a company called Mobile 365 Inc., which Sybase Inc. bought in 2006 for more than $ 400 million. SAP came into being when the German company acquired Sybase in 2010.

Some big technology companies including Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp. have advanced small transactions despite the sharp deal slump caused by the coronavirus pandemic. No final decisions have been made so far, and SAP can still choose to keep the business, reports the agency, regarding people familiar with the matter. A SAP spokesman declined to comment.
