Violations of ticket sales on Pieriga routes have been identified several times

In the eight months of this year, approximately 3% of the total of 1,058 regional bus routes were found to have ticket sales violations.

Violations are detected several times on the Pieriga routes connecting the capital with Jūrmala, Olaine, Salaspils, Ogre, Tīnūži, Baldoni and Vecumnieki, therefore there is a risk that the statistics on the frequency of public transport use do not correspond to the real demand, as a result . As part of the YES-TICKET ticket, citizens are encouraged to take a ticket as a way of showing that a particular flight will be needed by a passenger.

The Road Transport Directorate has created a map with routes where ticket sales violations have been detected during this year, for example, in 71 cases the passenger was not issued a ticket; In 13 cases, passengers were issued a ticket shortly before boarding the bus; in eight cases, passengers were unreasonably issued a ticket with a fare reduction or a zero-value ticket; in one case, the bus did not stop to take control. The map highlights in black the routes where infringements have been detected several times, and it is on these routes that the number of journeys could be reviewed in the future, reducing the frequency of buses or the capacity of the vehicle serving the journey.

Additional information is available in the attached annex. I also add a map with the routes where violations were found this year.
