Belgium, one of the European countries most affected by the second wave of covid-19, announced this Friday severe measures for the entire national territory in order to contain contagions.
Bars and restaurants will close, in principle, for four weeks. Take-away food can only be collected until 10 p.m., while the sale of alcohol will be prohibited from 8 p.m.
Throughout the country a curfew between midnight and 5:00 am from next Monday, when the telecommuting as the general rule for all jobs that can be run with that model.
These measures are similar, although extended to the entire country, to those taken by neighboring France. However, there is another that stands out as unusual in the catalog of actions against covid-19: the Belgian government demands its citizens choose a single person as their next social contact, that is, with which to be without protection.
Belgian They can invite four people to their home but they must always be the same during the next two weeks and they have the obligation to comply with the health protection regulations.
With 11.5 million inhabitants, Belgium accumulates 191,959 cases of coronavirus and 10,327 deaths, which makes it one of the European countries most affected by the pandemic in both the first and second waves.
