Cyclone “Sara” is approaching Moscow. Even on Sunday night and in the first half of the day in the capital, the weather will remain cloudy, but without significant precipitation. Heavy snow is expected after lunch. Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, told Zvezda about this.
“At the height of the weekend, the influence of a warm atmospheric front associated with the North Atlantic cyclone named“ Sarah ”will affect, because of which after 14-15 hours on Sunday it will start snowing. By the evening the wind will intensify and blizzards will swirl, which will impair visibility. The daytime temperature in the metropolis will not exceed zero degrees, ”said the forecaster.
Daytime temperatures in the capital will range from 0 to 2 degrees. The wind in the southern quarter is expected to be 5-10 meters per second, gusty in the evening, added Tishkovets.
“The onslaught of Cyclone Sarah will intensify on Monday night, especially during the morning rush hour. Visibility will naturally deteriorate and will become less than 1 kilometer. Accordingly, drifts will appear on the roads, which will lead to congestion, as well as interruptions in air traffic, ”said the meteorologist.
Monday morning temperatures will range from minus 1 to minus 3 degrees. It is expected that precipitation will subside in the afternoon, and the temperature will rise to 2 degrees Celsius. Southwest wind, 4-9 meters per second.
“The barometer readings will sharply drop to 740 millimeters of mercury, which will negatively affect the well-being of meteorological people. Up to 8-10 mm of precipitation is predicted, which is 15-20% of the monthly norm, ”explained Tishkovets.
