A serious traffic accident occurred overnight from Friday to Saturday in Saint-Georges-sur-Meuse. For some unknown reason, a young driver lost control of his car on Surface Street around 1:30 a.m. He turned left, at a bend on this narrow road that joins the N617. The Peugeot truck then fell into a ditch collecting rainwater.
The vehicle continued its race for a fairly long distance before finally hitting a pipe head, stopping the wind at the same time. Firefighters from Liège and the Hemeco area had to free three people, two men and a woman. The latter, from Saint-Georges and aged 24, was transported to the Citadel hospital. On Monday, the evolution of her state of health was reassuring: the young woman would be able to leave the hospital on Tuesday.
A 19-year-old man, Natan, also from the city, was taken to the Bois de l’Abbaye in Seraing. He suffered in particular from a broken hip. His life is not in danger, but he must still stay in the hospital for a certain period of time. Unfortunately, the third victim died as a result of this accident. This is Fabien Lancelot, a 22-year-old Herstalien.
