The immersive exhibition “Under the ice with Mario Cyr” in residence at the Center des Congrès de Québec

The interactive exhibition “Under the Ice with Mario Cyr” will travel to Quebec City for a residency at the Center des Congrès from December 18, 2021 to February 13, 2022.

Imagined by Lilli Marcotte and Benoit Landry and produced by Éloize Expo, a division of Cirque Éloize, the 45-minute exhibition immerses the public in the heart of the Canadian Arctic, with images and videos by renowned Madelinot photographer Mario Cyr.

Divided into several stages of its journey, the exhibition gives the visitor the impression of accompanying the photographer on his journey. At the entrance, there is the base camp, where the latter will witness the encounter between the explorer and his precious Inuit guides. Then there will be the mosaic “In Mario’s lens”, which reveals 300 images of the explorer taken over the years.

The visitor then arrives in “The edge of the ice” where it is possible to observe the limit between the ice and the sea which teems with life, before entering an immersive installation, “the heart”, with the music of Jean -Michel Blais accompanying the field of whales.

Finally, “La grotte” offers documentary videos and a virtual dive of the Madelinot.

The exhibition of cameraman, photographer and cold-water diver Mario Cyr, which attracted more than 28,000 curious at Studios Éloize, is on display in Montreal until October 31, 2021 before moving to Quebec.
