Malaga City Council has decided postpone this Tuesday the celebration of Malaga film festival after the uncertainty generated by the evolution of coronavirus. Although the health authorities do not expressly prevent it, its recommendation not to travel makes it difficult for the appointment to develop normally, as published by the official Twitter account of the session.
The 23rd edition of the event was scheduled to take place between Friday, March 13 and Sunday, March 22.
The Festival team works from this moment in the search for dates in which the event can be held normally.
Precisely, the mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, this Tuesday at a press conference had influenced, on the possibility of suspending it, that they would be attentive to what the central government communicated, hoping that it could be held at the end.
A total of 25 audiovisual pieces – 21 films of which 17 go to the contest – participated in the Official Section, which combined consecrated names and young promises and that, for the first time, included four series, although out of competition. The opening gala, scheduled for Friday, was to be presented by actor Brays Efe and the closing ceremony by actress Maggie Civantos.
