The result of Russian sales of new cars in April was a threefold collapse, but VAZ cars retain their first place.
The first place in the sale of new cars in April was retained by Lada Granta: 4564 cars, which is 67% lower than last year. In the runner-up Vesta, sales fell by 65% and amounted to 4,201 cars, Autostat reports.
The third place is held by Kia Rio, which was bought 2848 times (-68%). The fourth place and leadership of the SUV segment is in Hyundai Creta (2484 units, -62%). Also in the top five entered the wagon Lada Largus. Its sales fell by 61% – to 1,578 units.
Further in the ranking is Volkswagen Polo (1539 units and a 71% decline). Vazovskaya Lada 4×4 in April sold 1515 units (-50%). The Hyundai Solaris sedan showed the biggest decline: sales decreased by 75% and amounted to 1439 cars.
Closed the top ten Renault Duster (1407 units, -62%) and Volkswagen Tiguan (1329 units, -56%).
In April, due to quarantine, Russians bought only 54.5 thousand new cars, which is almost three times lower than March (160.6 thousand units), Autostat writes. The decline against the background of April 2019 is 64%, when 152.2 thousand cars were sold.
