The elite South African cycling team will continue even after the departure of its main sponsor NTT, under whose name it started in the WorldTour series this year. The Swiss clothing manufacturer ASSOS has become a new partner of the team, in the colors of which the Czech rider Roman Kreuziger has spent the last two seasons. The name of the stable should include the new sponsor together with the South African charity Qhubeka, which the team has long supported.
A question mark has been hanging in recent weeks about the future of the South African team, which was formed in 2007 and has been with WorldTour since 2016. Even due to this uncertainty, Kreuziger decided in recent days after the expiration of the contract to change the engagement and signed a contract with the Gazprom-RusVelo second-division stable.
Last week, team manager Dan Bjarne Riis also left NTT. The former winner of the Tour de France ran the stable for one season.
